Introduction

The spirit’s possessiveness is absolute, but clumsy tenderness and fierce protection slip through the cracks of his obsession. Torn between the desire to flee and a growing, forbidden attraction, Yun Shu wavers. Together they confront threats from the wider cultivation world and the ghosts of Xuan Qing’s past. In the end Yun Shu faces the truth of his own heart, embracing a destiny that began in coercion yet ends in profound, mutual love. Side by side they retreat to the depths of the peach grove, bound by blossoms and time, to share eternity.
