That is what ordinary eyes see. Beneath it runs one more line: "On the fifteenth of each month, the Yin Guest receives. Past the date, seek elsewhere."
Xie Bai is that Yin Guest — every dead spirit and monster passes through his hands. Yin Wushu is a great power outside the Six Realms entirely, formed from the world's pure yang energy, alive so long his age is unrecorded. When Xie Bai was a small child, someone laid a fatal restriction on him; wracked by illness, he was taken in by Yin Wushu, who raised him for nearly a century while slowly healing him — and somewhere in those years the child fell in love. Then, a hundred years ago, Yin Wushu drove him out without explanation. The story opens on their reunion: a scheme targeting Yin Wushu closes in, and with it the truth of that ancient expulsion. Expect a sweet story wearing a ghost-story coat, with glass shards inside the sugar: long-separated reunion, half-raising, flashbacks — and one very endearing black cat whose mannerisms suspiciously resemble a certain ageless man.
