过门 is a modern realist danmei novel by priest, serialized on Jinjiang Literature City (晋江文学城) from July 26, 2015; 69 chapters plus three extras, about 293,000 characters, HE. It is priest's only campus novel and her most unvarnished work — a story of sexual awakening and the struggles of sexual minorities, inspired by Gide's Strait Is the Gate. Thirteen years ago, Xu Xilin was a genuine brat and Dou Xun a hateful, chuunibyou transfer student who met his offered help with open disgust. Then circumstance — a divorcing family friend parking her son in the Xu household — put Dou Xun under the same roof as Xu Xilin, his formidable mother Xu Jin (徐进), and his grandmother. From enemies under one roof they become each other's family: the first-place-every-exam "Dou Xian'er" and his self-appointed manager, first kiss lost to a party game at their coming-of-age ceremony, a genius who gives up his early college-entrance slot just to spend one more year beside a slacker.

Then life happens. Family catastrophe (Xu Xilin loses his mother young), graduation, a breakup — "Dou Xun, let's call it off" — and seven or eight years of two people searching for each other and always just missing. They reunite when Xu Xilin, now a businessman, takes a ride-hailing order and finds his first love in the back seat. What follows is the adult half of the story: class reunions, old wounds, a diary written on candy wrappers, and two men who finally learn — he who once burned too hot learns restraint, he who always compromised learns courage. Guomen, 過門/过门, meaning marriage in Chinese. If explained literally, it means going past the gates/door-a reference to the Bible(see above).
